SELECT MERIT BADGES NOW...............
Merit Badge selection sheets are at the bottom. Give one sheet to each Scout so he can choose his merit badges and then summarize all the Scouts on the summary sheet for submission. Use the list of merit badges with pre-requisites to help your Scouts decide which merit badges are appropriate for him. Please note that some classes have a size limitation.
This is a first come first serve process with attention given to rank and age (or size). Get this summary sheet to our camp registrar, Jennifer, as soon as possible.
There is no better place to be in the summer than our own Boy Scout Camp Makualla. The water is fresh and clear and the scenery is beautiful. Whether you are staying at camp to take a merit badge and/ or go through our Trail to First Class or want to leave camp to take one of our many Outbound Trips, there is a good time to be had by everyone.
Boy Scouting is designed to take place outdoors. It is in the outdoor setting that Scouts share responsibilities and learn to live with one another. The skills and activities practiced at troop meetings come alive with purpose. Being close to nature helps Boy Scouts gain an appreciation for the beauty of the world around us.
Summer Camp is one of the single-most important events that a Boy Scout can attend. It will be one of the great experiences in the life of a Scout. Each program, merit badge, and evening campfire will linger in his memory for years to come. Scouts have the opportunity to put their outdoor skills to the test, to work with one another and to make life long friends. There is much to experience, to learn and to enjoy on a summer camp adventure.
Crater Lake Council offers an awesome long-term camping experience for everyone at Camp Makualla, located on Crescent Lake, offering a great view of Diamond Peak.
Outbound and High Adventure include but are not limited to:
-
Rock Climbing at Smith Rock - overnight trips to the world-famous sport-climbing destination
-
Whitewater Rafting - guided trips on the Deschutes River
