Who are Central Oregon Boy Scouts? The Fremont District serves Crook, Jefferson and Deschutes counties in central Oregon. The largest civic, leadership training, conservation and community service youth group in the region, the Fremont District of the Crater Lake Council, Boy Scouts of America, serves around 1,300 boys and young men/women ranging in ages from six to twenty-one. These boys and young men are represented by Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, Venture, Explorers and Varsity.
The Fremont District Boy Scouts boasts over 600 volunteer leaders that mentor the youth that we serve. The youth and adults provide over 380,000 hours annually of community service, leadership training, emergency medical response training, environmental restoration, and disaster preparedness and assistance to citizens of the three-county region. The Scout Store is located at 61383 S. Hwy 97 Suite F in Bend and is open Mondays 11 am to 3 pm, closed Tuesdays, open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 7 pm and closed Fridays and Saturdays. Upcoming 2012 Events and Activities April 6-7 Introduction to Outdoor Leaders Skills Contact Harry Ward 541-279-6374. Begins Friday at 6pm at Skull Hollow Campground and ends Saturday by 5pm. Fee is $20 and will take care of breakfast and lunch, plus campsite. April 28 Fremont District Recognition Dinner Starts at 6pm at the LDS Church on the corner of Mt. Washington and Shevlin Park in Bend. RSVP to the Scout office by April 20. Jim Abbott, a wonderful volunteer will also be receiving his Silver Beaver that night. March 20 - Prineville Cub Day Camp registrations due to Sue Williams April 6 - Bend Cub Day Camp registrations due to office. May 11-13 Spring Camporee for Boy Scouts at La Pine State Park hosted by Troop 21. June 17-23 NYLT - National Youth Leadership Training at Camp McLoughlin. Registrations due April 30. |
