CRATER LAKE COUNCIL 2013 JAMBOREE TROOP

The Crater Lake Council will be sending one troop of 36 Scouts and 4 adult leaders to the 2013 National Jamboree! This will be the first ever held at the new "Summit" location in West Virginia and promises to be an historic event in many ways! There will be lots of high adventure activities including 3,000 feet of zip lines taking you up to 50 miles an hour, world class mountain biking trails, an X Games style skate park, a state-of-the art 60 acre shooting sports facility, scuba pools, and more!

We recorded our Council’s kickoff, and you can view that on You Tube by clicking on the following link: http://youtu.be/fif02JJ6w3Y. (Please be advised that we cannot control the content of the ads on You Tube. Parental discretion is advised.)  There you will get the details on this exciting new venue, as well as an explanation of the tour that will be included, and some questions and answers.

The tour will begin in Philadelphia July 10, and will work its way to Washington D.C. through July 14. Scouts will walk the battlefield at Gettysburg, see where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed, experience the plantation where George Washington lived, place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery, walk the halls of Congress, tour the Smithsonian Museum, and more!
