Ordeals

    Lo La'Qam Geela's ordeals are a great way for new and old members alike to get involved and have a good time. If you are an incoming candidate, you should refer to our Ordeal Candidate Page to learn about what you should do to prepare.

    For those members who are returning, there are many ways that you can get involved. One of the most enjoyable ways is to join a ceremonies team. If you are under 21 years old, contact your Chapter Chief or the VC of Ceremonies to find out how you can get involved with a ceremonies team. Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal, and Brotherhood Ceremonies scripts are available below.

    Another great way to get active is to become an Elangomat for an ordeal. Elangomats' jobs are some of the most essential ones available. Basically, you will be a leader and peer to the new candidates throughout their whole ordeal process. You will work alongside and mentor your fellow members to encourage the four ideals of the ordeal. For more information, you can refer to our Elangomat Manual below.

    Are you a returning Ordeal member that has been with us for over 10 months? You can visit our Brotherhood Page to see if it is something that you're interested in. When you register, make sure to sign up as a brotherhood candidate and come on up to seal your ties in our order. A brotherhood candidate will have the opportunity to exercise his/her leadership skills, learn more about the Order of the Arrow, and become a better brother. Brotherhood ceremonies are available at each of our ordeals among other times.

    All other existing members are encouraged to join us as general members. If you register as a general member, you will be able to assist the lodge with many other aspects of putting on the ordeal. If you have any special skills or tools that you believe would be helpful, be sure to include it in the 'notes' section of your registration.

    All files are password-protected PDFs. The Order of the Arrow sets this as a standard to keep the air of mystery and to not lessen or spoil the experience of the candidates. This should not be interpreted as a desire to keep information from non-members genuinely interested in understanding the OA's purpose, policies, or nature. If you have any questions, feel free to ask a member of our LEC or your local BSA council representative.
