Important Updates Regarding Local Scouting

COVID-19 Mask Guidelines & Scouting
On May 13, the CDC updated the guidance on wearing masks as it relates to the COVID Pandemic.

While this is positive news, we are waiting for the States of Oregon and California to update their rules for mask wearing and additional guidance from the National Boy Scout Council before changes our guidance on safely holding Scouting programs during the pandemic. At this time you should continue to follow official state guidance around the wearing of masks.

Roundtable Update

Erik Johnsen, the Vice President of Membership, thinks units can get even more new Scouts to join Scouting. In fact, he thinks they can grow their membership by 75% this year. Astronomical and insane sounding, right? Well, it’s not as far-fetched as you’d think. Find out if he has his head in the clouds at the May 20th Roundtable where we will discuss growing your unit. We will showcase the plans and resources to help you attract more families, more volunteers, and more excitement to your Pack, Troop, Crew, or Post. Bring your ideas, questions, and concerns for us to talk about. Registration is required to attend this Roundtable. We can’t wait to see you there! Before you attend, please let us know what questions or concerns you have by filling out the survey.

Does your unit not typically sell popcorn? Would you like a fundraiser that does not require you to touch the product? You should also attend on June 2nd to learn how online popcorn sales have revolutionized Scout fundraising, allowing your unit to also benefit.
